For Architecture, the process in a series of repetitions and revisions. This forms the underlying theme to our built explorations in the studio. We are an interdisciplinary design studio that pride ourselves on our commitment to design. We handle a few select projects at a time, with particular attention to detail. Our response to local tectonics remains a key feature of our design process.

Nishant Mehta

Nishant Mehta has been known for his creative vision and creation of subliminal aesthetic environments in all his designs for the past eight years. He has a hand in designing homes for individuals as well as institutional buildings including the Sahyog School, Palanpur and the EMS teachers training college Palanpur. His designs are contextual and well researched and seek to explore the inherent potential of the site to create spaces that are aesthetic but also climatically relevant. Through his designs he experiments extensively with local materials and crafts that he then
incorporates into his buildings.
Nishant obtained his bachelors in Architecture degree from the Kamla Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute in Mumbai where he was awarded the BG Bhatt award for excellence in Design. He then began working as a junior architect with Ranjit Sinh Associates where he worked on the Betegaon Reserve Project and the Clubview Serviced Apartments in Lavasa. He then went on to purse a Masters in Architecture and Urban Design at the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, Columbia University where he was awarded an Honors Award for Excellence in Design. He then worked with the United Nations on a low income housing project in Bogota, Columbia. Nishant then moved to Ahmedabad, India where he worked with HCPDPM on several large scale riverfront projects like the Amochu Land Development and Township Project at Phuentsholing, Bhutan and the Sabarmati Riverfront Project in Ahmedabad.
He then setup his independent practice named Studio NM, based out of Mumbai. The studio currently has successfully completed projects such as the Sahyog School for Specially Abled Students
and the EMS teachers training college, both situated in Palanpur. The studio is currently handling a diverse range of projects ranging from single family homes, institutions, industrial infrastructure and
several high end residential and commercial interior projects. The studio also custom makes furniture pieces for clients and has a vertical that deals with graphic design and branding.
