Pedagogy

As an academician for over two decades, Ainsley Lewis has taught several design and technology courses at the institute. The pedagogic philosophy is to find a synergy between architectural research and the resultant manifestation. He believes in an iterative process of design that is anchored in semantics and phenomenological aspects of architecture.

He has been a juror for design projects at various architectural schools. He has lectured on Architectural Design, Informal Housing and Conservation and conducted teachers training programs for the Council of Architecture. Professionally, his firm’s primary concern has been the exploration of varied spatial nomenclatures, using three-dimensional studies, including large-scale models and computer-generated animation. Ainsley Lewis has his work published in professional architectural journals. He has won several awards nationally for architecture and interior design. The most recent being an international award, the UNESCO Asia Pacific Cultural Heritage Conservation Award of Merit, 2019.
