The KRVIA Post-graduate programs in Architecture-Urban Conservation & Urban Design introduces the theme for the next three year cycle (2024-2027), “Localizing SDG’s”. It attempts to regionalize the sustainable development goals in the development as well as sustenance of the history and heritage of our cities.
 

Call for Fellowship 2024-25

USM’s KRVIA RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM 2024-25 CALL FOR PROPOSALS

The KRVIA has been conducting its Research Fellowship Program since 1998 with the intent of promoting active research in the disciplines of architecture, design, art, technology, humanities and urban studies. The KRVIA Research Fellowship Program is offered to TWO research fellows, who have completed their graduation in architecture and wish to pursue independent research in their area of interest, for a period of 11 months.

Selection, appointment and allowances of Research Fellows: The selection of the Research Project proposed by the interested candidate will be based on the submission of research proposal, as per the prescribed format, along with a CV. A panel comprising the Director, the Dean of Research and Academic Development and the KRVIA Research Fellowship Coordinator will formulate a clear marking system indicating the parameters and other criteria on which the selection will be made.

The research fellow is expected to spend 20 working hours per week at the Institute. Remuneration and other details will be discussed at the time of the interview. The institute will not provide for any travel or other allowances incurred by the research fellow during the course of the appointment. If the research project is prolonged beyond the assigned period of 11 months, the Institute shall not be responsible for compensating the research fellow for any additional work. 

Please note the research fellow cannot hold any appointment, paid or otherwise or receive emoluments that may directly conflict with or affect their performance during the tenure of the fellowship.

Applicants holding an equivalent fellowship affiliated to another University/Academic Institution need not apply.

The Kamla Raheja Memorial Lecture Series is an annual event held by the KRVIA to discover new directions in architecture and urban practice and pedagogy through discussions and debate, experiment and play, it enables the institution to open out new avenues and horizons for exploration within the academy. Every year a different issue concerning contemporary spatial practices is unpacked through multidisciplinary explorations, seminars, lectures, exhibitions and workshops. These events have covered a wide variety of issues including questions of the domain of architectural thinking, housing, infrastructure, history and heritage. The KRMLS is ssupported by the Kamla Raheja Foundation.
